Techniques in Reading.

There are many techniques in reading. such as: Previewing,Predict,Guessing the meaning, Finding the topics, Finding Main Idea,Scanning,Skimming,etc.

 

 

1.       Previewing

previewing is getting a general passage of the book, article or etc. To get a general passage you must looking at from the first paragraph and asking yourself. What  is the story about? What kind of the text or story is it?

How to preview?

·         Read the title and the headings

·         Look at the picture

·         Read the first paragraph

·         Read the blurb (short expalantion or synopsys)

·         Read the last paragraph

·         Read the index (word list)
